Anna Ruby Falls lies deep in the Chattahoochee National Forest, where Curtis Creek and York Creek spill side by side, creating one of the only twin waterfalls in the region. The falls were named for Anna Ruby Nichols, who passed away in this area and became part of its early local history. Curtis Creek plunges 153 feet beside the softer 50-foot drop of York Creek, their waters joining into one rushing stream. The area is protected as part of the Smithgall Woods Conservation Area, keeping the trail and viewing platforms preserved for visitors. Today it’s one of North Georgia’s most popular and accessible waterfall hikes.
